Begin with a conversation. Arrive with certainty.
The starting point is never a destination.
Before I suggest anywhere, I want to understand who you are. Not your travel preferences — you. What you're looking to step away from. What you want to feel. Whether you're ready for stillness, or whether you need movement first.
The right pairing between a person and a place is rarely obvious. It takes time, attention, and honest knowledge of both. That is where every Dyad journey begins.
The Process
01
The inquiry
You complete the intake form — a brief introduction to who you are and what you're imagining. There are no wrong answers.
02
The conversation
We speak. I ask questions. I listen more than I talk. This is not a sales call — it is the foundation of everything I'm about to build. If I'm not the right fit for what you're looking for, I'll say so.
03
The planning fee
Once we agree to work together, a non-refundable planning fee of $250 is charged. This covers the full design of your itinerary — the research, the curation, the considered decisions behind every element of your journey. It is credited in full against your final booking.
04
The concept
I develop a bespoke journey concept — a broad outline of territories, rhythms, and experiences calibrated to who you are. Before a single lodge is placed, the shape of your journey has already been considered.
05
The itinerary
The full design. Each property chosen for a specific reason. Each experience placed with intention. Each day sequenced so that your journey has a shape, not just a schedule.
06
The refinement
We iterate. Nothing is confirmed until it feels right. You will understand not just what your itinerary contains, but why each element is there.
07
The booking
I manage everything: supplier communication, payment logistics, documentation, and a thorough pre-departure briefing. The administrative weight of a complex trip is mine to carry. Not yours.
08
The journey
You travel. I remain available throughout — not intrusively, but reliably. If something needs to shift, I'm there.
09
The return
A brief debrief after you're home. It tells me what resonated and what didn't — and informs every journey I design after yours.
What I need from you
Honesty — about who you are, not who you think you should be as a traveller. Time for a real conversation before we begin. And trust — not given blindly, but built through the process. The journeys I design best are for people willing to be surprised.
Considered curation, not a catalogue. A reason behind every choice. Directness when something isn't right for you — even when it's somewhere extraordinary. And genuine knowledge: I curate this continent from the inside. The properties I recommend are places I know. Not places I've read about.
What you can expect from me
My standards
Every property in a Dyad itinerary has been held against standards I don't compromise on — not only for the quality of the experience, but for how that property operates within its environment and its community. Conservation-led, community-embedded operations are not a preference. They are the minimum.
Practical considerations.
-
Southern and Eastern Africa, and the Indian Ocean islands — South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Madagascar, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda the Republic of the Congo, and the Seychelles.
-
At least three to six months before your intended travel dates is ideal for complex itineraries. Shorter lead times are occasionally possible — ask.
-
Dyad journeys typically begin at $15,000 USD for the full experience. If your budget sits below this, I'm likely not the right fit — we can discuss and I'll tell you honestly rather than waste your time.
